Outdoor Play Day at Nursery

16th May 2018

Today we celebrated Outdoor Play Day at Nursery along with some of our parents. We had lots of fun exploring and playing in all the different outdoor areas with our friends and parents. We were also able to show our parents our outdoor play area and what we get up to outside at Nursery. We planted sunflower seeds, played with the minibeasts in the mud, searched for minibeasts, found treasure in the sand, make cupcakes in the mud kitchen, made a castle with the polygon, played on our trikes, played in the house, weaved ribbon and lots more. To finish we read a story all about the worm that we found 'Superworm'.

Outdoor learning improves children’s health, engages them with learning and leads to a greater connection with nature. Play not only teaches critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to children’s enjoyment of childhood.

Thank you to the parents who were able to join us. We hope you enjoyed your morning with your child outdoors and understand the value of outdoor play.
