We really enjoyed reading the story of “The Little Red Hen” as part of our learning about instructional writing and the farm. We took it in turns to take on the role of characters in the story by acting out various parts and completed some shared writing together on the board. We also developed our understanding of how farmers harvest wheat and the process by which it is turned into flour. We had a great time making our own bread and eating it with some jam and butter! Next week, we will write our own instructions showing how to make bread.
