Nursery Outdoor Classroom Day
Today, Thursday 12th October, is Outdoor Classroom Day. We, along with many other boys and girls over the world, celebrated by spending our day exploring the outdoors. We started our day by listening to an Autumn story outside, then played in lots of different areas outside including the mud kitchen, sand, gardening, roadworks on our road, taking part in a football game and playing together on the see-saw. We enjoyed a picnic and then went on our Autumn walk.
Outdoor learning is vital for children as it improves children’s health, engages them with learning and leads to a greater connection with nature. Outdoor Play not only teaches critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to children’s enjoyment of childhood.
